The Defence Ministry's 'Enough: End the Terror' campaign won a Gold Award at the Annual Chillies Advertising awards, held at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Center on Saturday, the 12th of May. This sizzling event, brought together all the advertising fraternity from around the country for a week filled with insightful ideas, ground breaking concepts and interactive workshops and seminars.
The spectacular ambient idea was created by Triad advertising at the spot where the LTTE terrorists tried to assassinate Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa. The suicide blast which blew away a chunk of the wall near the Dharmapala Mawatha roundabout gave an idea to some creative spark in the Defence Ministry to order this sketch over the damage, to convey a big NO to killings and violence.
The painting of a man screaming 'Enough: End the Terror' attracted much attention at the time. The International panel of judges who had praised the idea had commented that the campaign had Cannes potential.
Triad advertising is also the creators of the hugely popular morale boosting campaign Api Wenuwen Api (Together of All) for the Security Forces.
The Sri Lanka Advertising Awards, the Chillies 2007, is a joint industry initiative of the International Advertising Association (IAA) and the Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies (the 4A's) together with the collaborative counsel of Sri Lanka's marketing and media fraternity. |
