Sri
Lanka began their 2008 tour of the West Indies on a bright
note, as they motored along to 343 for 5 wickets, against
an inexperienced Guyana President’s Select XI at Providence
Stadium, Guyana on Monday.
Opener Malinda Warnapura stroked 132, skipper while Mahela
Jayawardene fell one run away from a century.
Thilan Samaraweera made 34, Kumar Sangakkara 22 and Michael
Vandort 29.
At the wicket at close of play in the three day match were
TM. Dilshan on 9 and Prasanna Jayawardene, on zero.
