Prabakaran, leader of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam
has lost his commanding position in the separatist outfit.
It is reliably learnt that LTTE leader is suffering very
badly from his fluctuating chronic diabetes.
According to Minister Dr. Keheliya Rambukawella, Government
spokesperson for Defence and National Security, Sri Lankan
intelligence personnel monitoring LTTE's daily acitivities
have not heard the voice of LTTE leader since the middle
of November 2007.
Dr.
Rambukawella further stated that according to reports
reaching Colombo reveal Velupillai Prabakaran, leader
of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam has lost his commanding
position in the separatist outfit.
According
to Dr. Rambukawella Prabakaran is seriously ill and has
been affected by his fluctuating diabetic conditions.
It
is reliably learnt that LTTE leader is suffering very
badly from his fluctuating chronic diabetes. It is further
revealed that at present the outfit activities are in
shambles and two senior rival leaders have taken over
the day to day activities.
Sri
Lanka Governtment’s intelligence agency which is
monitoring LTTE activities in the Vanni says that the
two rival leaders - Intelligence Chief Shanmuganthan Sivasankaran
alias Pottu Amman and Thamotherampillai Sivanesan alias
Soosai are controlling and running the day to day affaires
of the outfit.
When
Asian Tribune asked whether anyone approached the Government
for allowing Prabakaran be hospitalized in some hospitals
in Colombo or about facilitating him to leave the country
for hospitalizations in another country, he said that
so far we have not received such a request on behalf of
Prabakaran from anyone.
He
also said that the Government intelligence is well aware
that a medical team from India including Tamil doctors
from London managed to enter Vanni through boats from
India to examine the condition of Prabakaran and provide
medication.
When
Asian Tribune asked why those doctors illegally entering
Vanni was not confronted and arrested, Dr. Keheliya Rambukawella
said that sea is a vast area and they managed to slip
into Vanni.
Dr.
Keheliya Rambukawella told Asian Tribune that according
to their intelligence report the two rival leaders are
heard putting out conflicting commands to their cadres.
