A LTTE terrorist was reported killed
sniped by SLA on Tuesday (March 25) at Parappakandhal ahead
of Mannar LTTE defences at around 5.30p.m.
Meanwhile,
troops recovered 72 anti-personnel mines (AP), 13x 60mm
mortar bombs, 13x hand grenades, a 2.5kg weighing claymore
mine, 01x LTTE modified 'arul' type mortar bomb and an improvised
82mm mortar bomb from general area Parappakkandhal following
an extensive search operation conducted this evening.
Similarly,
in a search operation conducted in general area Nedunkandhal
at 2.30p.m., troops have recovered 16AP mines and 4 improvised
bombs, Mannar security sources said. Meanwhile, SLA has
handed over 11 LTTE bodies to ICRC including bodies of 6
female cadres, the sources further added.
