45 terrorists killed and 14 injured in yesterday's clashes

The military reports received from the battlefronts in the North indicates that the troops have moving towards LTTE territory further inflicting damages to the enemy in their military operation launched to liberate Wanni region from terrorists' hold. According to the report, 45 terrorists were killed and 14 others injured during these clashes.

Meanwhile, 14 army personnel also received injuries in clashes erupted right throughout the day, the report further stated.

In Jaffna theatre of battle, 9 LTTE terrorists were killed in clashes erupted on the Muhamalai front. Five soldiers also sustained injuries due to these clashes.

In Wanni theatre of battle, on Vavuniya front, clashes erupted in general areas Navathkulam, Periyapantrichurichchan, Karampaikulam, and Sinnapandivirichchan, the report said. 22 LTTE terrorists were killed while another 5 received injuries during these clashes. Four army personnel also received injuries in these incidents.

On the Mannar front, 4 terrorists were killed and 4 others received injuries in clashes erupted in general areas Thirukethiswaram, Adampan South, Adampam and Parappakandal, the report stated. Meanwhile, following items which were ready to be sent LTTE controlled areas were uncovered by the troops on information in general area Periyakamam. The recovered was made around 8.45 a.m. yesterday.

On Weli-oya front, 10 LTTE terrorists were killed and another 5 received injuries due to the clashes erupted in general areas Kokkutuduvai, Janakapura, and Andankulam, report further said. 5 army soldiers also sustained injuries in these confrontations.

Limited offensive operations are being continued further.
