Limited offensives continued today (14) amidst torrential rains as SLA inched forward ahead of LTTE defences destroying 5 LTTE bunkers and killing 3 in pitched fighting erupted along the Mannar front, security sources said.

According to reports received, clashes broke-out between troops and LTTE in general area Thirukeshwaran at around 6.50.a.m. 4 LTTE bunkers were destroyed and 3 terrorists killed, while 2 soldiers received injuries, military sources reported.

Meantime, in general area North of Adampan 2 other soldiers were reported wounded following a fierce exchange of mortar and rocket propelled grenade (RPG) attacks with LTTE ahead of enemy FDLs, at 9.20.a.m.

Troops also reported that a LTTE bunker was destroyed in general area Adampan today at 10.40 a.m.
