The Sri Lankan selectors have announced the Sri Lanka A squad for the two unofficial test matches against Bangladesh A. Veteran Thilan Samaraweera will lead the side which features seven players with test and ODI experience for Sri Lanka. The team also features long serving Sri Lankan leg-spinner Upul Chandana who played his last test against New Zealand at Wellington in April 2005.

According to selectors, Thilan Samaraweera, Malinda Warnapura, Michael Vandort, Jehan Mubarak , Chamara Kupugedara, Upul Chandana, and Rangana Herath who have all played tests and ODIs for Sri Lanka, still have bright futures with Sri Lankan cricket. They believe this tour will give them a perfect opportunity to regain their places in the national side.
Both unofficial test matches of the tour will be played at the Colts CC grounds in Colombo on March 19-22 and March 25-28.
A team for the one day series will be announced later.
