Sri Lankan Air Force fighter craft and MI-24 helicopter gun-ships launched multiple air strikes at identified LTTE positions in separate locations in Wanni and North this evening (June 25).

According to security sources, SLAF fighter jets have raided three LTTE artillery launching pads located 3km South of the Muhamalai LTTE forward defence lines (FDL) at around 1.45p.m. Earlier, Air Force MI-24 helicopter gun-ships attacked an LTTE bunker line located 3km North of Nittukaikulama Tank in Welioya, supporting advancing troops of the 59 Division at 1.15p.m, the sources added.
