Popular actor Ranjan Ramanayaka has informed the United National Party (UNP) that he was ready to accept the challenge of contesting to the Chief Minister post of the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council, a challenge that was turned down by popular Sinhala tutor Upul Shantha Sannasgala.
At a press briefing held today in Mr. Ramanayaka's Maharagama house today (25), he said that several friends of his also appealed him to contest and he expected a decision would be taken on July 01 at the party Executive Committee.

Mr. Ramanayaka is the UNP electoral organizer of Kandana electorate.
