Twenty
civilians fleeing LTTE held areas in Mullaithivue and Malayanwadu
reached the Kokilai army point seeking the security forces
protection this morning, June 24.
The
group comprising 14 males and 6 females have reached to
the security forces controlling areas around 10.45 a.m,
defence sources said. Three children were also among the
escapees who have fled their native areas due to the LTTE's
harassment and forceful recruitments, sources further said.
Security
forces personnel have provided all the necessities for the
escapees and steps have already been taken by the government
officials to provide safe shelter for them. |
