What
is S. Thamilenthi, the Head of the LTTE Financial Division
doing in Amparai? This is a million dollar question. Asian
Tribune learnt that he has been seen moving around in
group, in some Muslim villages in the Amparai district.
Also along with him people has seen Kalairupan, Head of
LTTE Pistol Unit from Vanni.
According
to report reaching Asian Tribune increased activities
of LTTE cadres reported in Muthur. Many new faces are
seen roaming and they are going in groups and seeking
assistance and support from the Tamil youths in Muthur.
Asian
Tribune also learnt that a group of 65 LTTE cadres led
by Chanthiran from Vanni has managed to reach Muthur and
are now hiding in the thick jungles of Verukal.
Why
Vanni LTTE leadership is suddenly sending their leaders
and cadres to the East? According to sources in the East,
LTTE is trying to negotiate with Muslim groups and coming
forward to provide arms training to them in Verukal as
well as in Yala jungles.
Sources
revealed that already more than one hundred Muslim youths
have managed to trickle into Vanni from the East for arms
training. East Muslim youths cross into LTTE controlled
areas from the entry/ exit points in Mannar and not through
Omanthai, to avoid creating suspicion.
Furthermore,
Asian Tribune learns that Thamilenthi arrived in LTTE
boat and landed in down south and entered Amparai. He
is in Amparai to convince the militant Muslim youths and
to entice them for arm trainings.
In
the Yala and Panama jungles, groups of LTTE cadres under
Ram is already there and they are tasked with training
the Muslim youths.
LTTE
according to sources is short of new recruits and have
decided to train Muslim youths with the intention of bringing
about unrest in the East.
In
the meantime, Asian Tribune also learnt that LTTE leadership
has appointed Nagesh, one of the eastern commanders as
commander of Weli Oya – Mullaithievu sector replacing
the demised Balraj in the Vanni region. Bahnu is assigned
commander for A 9 road as well as to Vavuniya - Mannar
region and Theepan to Muhamalai, Nagkarkovil and Kilinochchi
region. LTTE sources revealed that all these three special
commanders come directly under V.Prabakaran, the leader
of the outfit.
Reports
also revealed that there exists lot of discontent in the
midst of the rank and file of the LTTE fighting formation.
