Sri Lanka Air Force today (June 16) carried out 2 air raids targeting LTTE positions in the Jaffna Forward Defence Line (FDL) and at Puthukkudiyiruppu in Mulaithiuvu LTTE stronghold.

According to the Air Force sources , fighter jets pounded a key LTTE logistic base comprising a warehouse complex located 2 km southeast of Puthukkudiyiruppu junctions around 10 am . The sources confirmed that the target was accurately taken.

The second raid was carried out by the MI 24 helicopter gunships targeting LTTE positions in the Nagarkovil area around 11.30 am. The sources said that the attack carried out in support of the Army operations currently underway in the area. The attack was successful, the sources added.
