Russel Arnold felicitated by Peterites

One of the latest editions of retirement in the international cricketing arena, Russel Premakumaran Arnold, was felicitated by his alma mater recently.

The event was organized by the Past Cricketers' Association of St. Peter's College, Colombo 04.

Russell Arnold, the first ever Peterite to represent the motherland in a final of a cricket world cup was honoured at an event held at Hotel Taj Samudra recently.

Rector of St. Peter's College, Colombo, Rev. Fr. Travis Gabriel delivering his speech at the event said that Russell's achievements should be commended

in a career highlighted with considerable ups and downs.

"St. Peter's College should be content as it has produced another citizen with a great character and humility," Rev. Fr. concluded.

"I am privileged and esteemed by this felicitation ceremony and I am grateful

to all my college mates who prolonged their assistance throughout in many ways whenever I was in pressure situations in my career," said Arnold delivering his speech at the occasion.

President, Past Cricketers' Association of St. Peter's College, Bernard Wijetunga conferred a replica to Arnold at the event. President of the Old Boy's Union of St. Peter's, Suranga Seneviratne and illustrious old boys of the College were also present. And the Secretary to the Association, Roshan Anthony delivered the vote of thanks.
