Japanese Peace envoy Akashi to visit Sri Lanka

ImageMr. Yasushi Akashi, Representative of the Government of Japan for
Peace-building, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction in Sri Lanka, will arrive the island tomorrow on a four- day official visit.

Mr. Akashi is scheduled to meet with both government and LTTE leaders and will wrap up his visit with a news conference in Colombo. He will be in Sri Lanka till June 9.

He will also discuss with the Government and the parties concerned, the current situation of the peace process and its future.

This is Mr. Akashi's 14th visit to Sri Lanka since he was appointed as the
Representative of the Government of Japan for Peace-building, Rehabilitation
and Reconstruction in Sri Lanka.
