Suspended sentence for Thonda, 2 others

Three leaders of the Ceylon Workers Congress, including Arumugam Thondaman, have been found guilty of contempt of court and handed down suspended prison sentences.

They had been accused of disregarding a previous order by the court against entering the office of Lanka Labour United Front leader S. Sathasivam

Nuwara Eliya Magistrate Amali Ranaweera today (July 29th) imposed a six-month imprisonment suspended for three years and a Rs. 3,000 fine each on Thondaman, Muttu Sivalingam and R. Radhakrishnan.
