Security
forces personnel engaged in counter terrorist offensive
operation inching further towards LTTE territory have gained
control over more LTTE areas inflicting damages to the enemy,
the finalized military report received from the forefront
said. 13 LTTE terrorists were killed and 6 others suffered
injuries due to the clashes ensued between security forces
and LTTE yesterday, July 27. In addition, 19 more terrorists
reportedly either killed or wounded due to the yesterday's
clashes. Two security forces personnel have made utmost
sacrifice for the sake of motherland while 8 others received
injuries.
Troops
of 57 Division operating in Vavuniya front launched an attack
targeting a group of LTTE terrorists in general area Parappukkal.
Intercepting LTTE communication, it is revealed that 4 LTTE
terrorists were killed in this attack. An army solder received
injuries was admitted to the Ampara hospital.
Army
snipers deployed in Kuttimulai area gunned down an LTTE
terrorist during day hours yesterday while another army
soldier injured in a separate confrontation took place in
Mallavi area.
Meanwhile,
following list of items were uncovered by troops while conducting
two separate search operation in general area Mallavi during
the morning hours yesterday.

Army
snipers deployed in Task Force 2 gunned down 2 more LTTE
terrorists in general area Navvi. In a separate confrontation,
2 more terrorists were killed while 2 others wounded in
general area Palamoddai.
In
Mannar front, 3 soldiers of Task Force 1 suffered injured
exploding anti-personnel mines in PAMPEDDI.
In
Welioya front, 4 terrorists were killed 4 others wounded
in series of clashes were reported in north of Janakapura,
north of Kiriibbanwewa, Ethaweunuwewa and Ranabapura areas.
19 more terrorists were reportedly either killed or wounded
during these clashes, the report added. Meanwhile, one soldier
has made his supreme sacrifices while 4 others wounded during
these clashes in the same front. Separately, 32 anti-personnel
mines and 14 Improvised Explosive Devices (IED's) were unearthed
by the engineering troops engaged in mine clearing operations
in north of Janakapura area.
A
trench deep more than 8 feet filled with water with a huge
mound of sand and soil dug by the LTTE terrorists to resist
the security forces' movement into the Vavunikulam tank
area in Vavuniya front.
