Minister of Power and Energy, John Seneviratne, was unanimously elected Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Public Expenditure (COPE) today (July 23). Minister Seneviratne replaces Wijedasa Rajapakse whose tenure ended automatically with the expiration of the last parliamentary session.

Earlier in the day, Minister of Mass Media and Information, Anura Priyadharshana Yapa, was elected as Chairman of the Parlimantary Committee on PublicAccounts.
