Sri
Lanka's controversial Labour Minister Mervyn Silva narrowly
escaped from yet another experience similar to what he
faced at the Rupavahini a few months back, when he visited
the Colombo National Hospital (CNH) yesterday, a report
said.
Reportedly,
the Minister had gone to the kitchen of the hospital and
tried to intimidate CNH employees to refrain from participating
in the token strike today.
When
the agitated hospital employees tried to surround him
the Minister had fled the scene with his bodyguards.
In
December 2007, the Minister was severely assaulted by
the state-owned television station, Rupvahini Corporation
employees when he tried to threaten the news director.
