Mr. Geethanjana Gunawardena who stepped down voluntarily from the post of Deputy Speaker this week has been offered a non-Cabinet portfolio yesterday (09).
Accordingly Mr. Gunawardena was sworn in as non-Cabinet Minister for Housing Development by President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

He is the brother of Urban and Sacred Area Development Minister and Chief Government Whip Dinesh Gunawardene.
