Two Sri Lankan players who represent Kandy Sports Club - Sanjeewa Jayasinghe and Dushanth Lewke, have been selected by the Asian Rugby Football Union Selectors to attend trials in Kota Kinabalu from July 19 to 23. This training camp will act as a preparation and a trial for the Asian Barbarians team to play against Japan.

Japan has requested this from the Asian Rugby Football Union in preparation for their RWC 2007 matches.
