Three airmen injured when a around  used for 30 mm cannon of a K'fir jet accidentally exploded at the Katunayake airbase around 2.45 this evening. (08th)

The injured have been admitted to General Hospital Negombo. Hospital sources said, that one of the injured was in a serious condition and steps have been taken to transfer him to the Colombo National Hospital. Others are out of danger, the sources further added. 

And  investigation is presently underway to find out the reason behind the accident. Air force sources said that the blast had caused no damages to any of the aircraft.
