Cambodia has admitted the possibility that the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) may still engaged in gun running on her soil to equip its bloody war against Sri Lankan citizen.

"There could be some bad people involved.... We would like information to lead us to the offenders," Cambodia's Interior Ministry spokesman Khieu Sopheak said commenting on the Jane's Intelligence Report that Cambodia remains a main source of weapons for the Tamil Tigers.

Janes Report said, "Cambodia is one of the most significant single sources of weapons for the insurgent group,"

Earlier Sri Lanka's Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka visited Cambodia and discussed the problem with the Cambodian government and the government is cooperating with Sri Lanka to resolve the problem. Sopheak further said, "We are victims of weapons, so we don't want people in other countries to suffer the same crisis."

Due to the decades old Cambodian civil war the country has become an arsenal of illegal weapons and the government has destroyed about 230,000 guns in the country. But porous borders has made the country an attractive ground for gun running with corrupt army personnel involved in the business , it is believed.
