Army death toll in yesterday's (14, July) terrorists' attack in Madhu "No-War-Zone" risen to 14 as the LTTE handed over four bodies of army soldiers through the ICRC in this evening (15,July).
Military sources said that the bodies have been identified as of four soldiers who had gone on missing in action after the clashes at Periyathampanai yesterday. Army received the bodies around 3 p.m. from the ICRC representatives at Uilanankulama roadblock in Mannar.
The LTTE terrorists yesterday launched a cowardly mortar attacks at the security forces deployed along the Wanni Forward Defence Line (FDL) at Periyathampanai. The attack was launched by the terrorists abusing the "No-War-Zone" agreed by the troops in view of Pilgrims season of the Madhu Shrine.
In their initial reports, military said that 10 soldiers were killed and 14 others were injured due to the clashes. |
