Sri Lanka treating tour match seriously

30.1.2008

Sri Lanka is expected to name a strong team for today's one-day match against the Prime Minister's XI at Canberra's Manuka Oval.

The tourists trained yesterday and are expected to include their top batsmen as well as spinner Muttiah Muralidaran in the line-up.

The local PM XI side has won the past three matches against touring opposition.

Sri Lankan coach Trevor Bayliss says his side wants to build momentum ahead of the one-day series against Australia and India.

"We're here to win every game we can on this tour, from the practice games right through the tournament, we'll be out there to win," he said.
