 Davis Cup stalwart Rohan de Silva was appointed, by the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) General Committee last Wednesday (16), as this year’s Sri Lanka Davis Cup team Non Playing Captain.
De Silva, who was the Non Playing Captain of last year’s Sri Lanka team, is the most experienced Davis Cup campaigner of the country and he played for Sri Lanka last in the Philippines round of Davis Cup 2006.
Vasantha Wijesekara and Dominik Utzinger were earlier named as Sri Lanka Manager and Coach respectively for this year’s Davis Cup Asia-Oceania Zone Group-III to be held in Teheran, Iran, this April. The four-member Sri Lanka team for this year will be named later next month by the SLTA.
