VAVUNIYA : A lorry from the KILLINOCHI hospital en route to Colombo for gas purchases was stopped at one of the check points in VAVUNIYA.

The vigilant Police officers searching the truck as standard procedure came across an unusual pair of slippers hidden in the "cabby hole" of the Lorry.

The Police officers who were over come by extreme suspicion closely inspected the pair of slippers and found a fake sole in which 500 grams of C-4 explosive was concealed in slipper.

The Police immediately arrested the lorry driver & two other hospital workers who were in the Lorry.

VAVUNIYA Police are conducting further investigations.
