A group of LTTE terrorists have carried out a cowardly attack at the civilians at Kalawalgala, a remote village in the Thanamalwila area around 10, last night (Jan 17). According to the available information 10 innocent civilians have been butchered during the night raid carried out by the terrorists.

Initially, it was reported that only three civilians were killed and another three suffered injuries when the terrorists opened fire at the civilians in the village. However, latest reports indicate that the those three  civilians killed were those who were assisting the civil defence force personnel after being alerted by the terrorists' presence. It is now believed that the terrorists had killed the civilians after forcibly taking them to a jungle patch before the villagers became suspicious.

Troops engaged in search operations have found the other 7 bodies this morning. According to defence sources, the terrorists have laid anti- personnel mines in the area in order to slow down army pursuit.

LTTE is a ruthless terrorist outfit fighting for a mono ethnic separate homeland for the Tamils in Sri Lanka since 1983. In pursuit for its ethnically pure homeland, the terrorists have butchered tens and thousand of innocent civilians in similar night raids at civilian villages, indiscriminate bomb blasts targeting crowded places, public transport busses, religious places, etc. Unlike any other terrorist outfit in the world, LTTE has been careful enough to not to claim responsibility for any of its heinous crimes committed against Sri Lanka citizens.

Using its unholy connections with some segments in local and international media, bogus Human Rights activists' and certain NGO lackeys; LTTE has been able to hoodwink the world that it is a liberation organisation fighting for the minority rights in Sri Lanka. However, many moderate Tamils in Sri Lanka believe that it is LTTE that has caused the greatest destruction to the local Tamil community.

Over three thousand Tamil civilians are being held hostage in mono-ethnic hellhole in the Wanni while their children and youth are been forcibly fed into the battle front by the LTTE leadership. Meanwhile, LTTE has been able to censor the voice of moderate Tamils through terror thralls in local, media and to continue its misinformation campaign through diaspora communities.
