The LTTE published posters in France announcing resumption of Tamil Television Network (TTN) telecast in the near future. Within 8 months of banning the TTN by French authorities and Globcast, a French satellite uplink company, the LTTE came out with the poster campaign announcing, ‘TTN is planning to recommence its transmissions soon based from Paris to the viewers of entire Europe.'

It is still not clear how the LTTE plans to recommence telecast of the transmission which was ordered to close down as it had failed to obtain a license from the CSA, the Telecommunication Authority in France. The transmission was cancelled by CSA in May 2007 after Sri Lankan authorities informed the CSA that TTN was the television broadcast that belongs to LTTE which is a banned terrorist outfit.
Attempts made by the LTTE to register TTN during the court proceedings were also unsuccessful as the CSA had rejected the application. Later last year the French authorities, while denying the right to transmit, however granted permission to function as a media institution and produce programmes.
When TTN transmission was blocked, the LTTE entered into a deal with Mathuram Television, a Singapore based company and transmitted TTN programmes through them. The LTTE also signed another agreement with Australia based company, Tharishanam for telecasting its programmes.
However, Mathuram also ceased to function in November 2007 leaving the LTTE to depend entirely on Tharishanam. Towards the end of 2007, TTN ran into another problem as a dispute had arisen between the LTTE and Tharishanam. While telecasting non controversial programmes, Tharishanam refused to transmit sensitive LTTE propaganda material because of legal implications.
This has forced the LTTE to use all possible methods including bribery and other corrupt practices to recommence TTN transmissions from France.
