JVP
propaganda secretary, Wimal Weerawansa says that the role
of the co-chairs has ended with the abrogation of the
Cease Fire Agreement by the government.
He
said this when we inquired him about the sudden visit
of the Japanese special peace envoy, Mr. Yashushi Akashi.
In
his comments he said not only the role of the Cease Fire
Monitors, but also that of the co - chairs has ended with
the abrogation of the Cease Fire Agreement. They have
begun to cry out their disappointment as they are not
willing to accept it, he said.
"As
the government decided to abrogate the Cease Fire Agreement
even later, one important step of the agenda of the international
community has gone in disarray. That has infuriated them.
Mr. Akashi's visit could be a result of this infuriation."
Mr.Weerawansa said further in his comments.
Mr.
Weerawansa a concluded saying that JVP is attentively
watching the situation and his party would respond to
