Four burnt bodies found from Yala Wildlife Park

Buththala Police station received a complaint today (10) that four burnt human bodies were found in the thick jungles of Yala Wildlife Park.

A spokesman of Buththala police station said to Lanka-e-News that the Army informed the police that four identifiable bodies were seen in thick jungles 30 KM away from Galge area.

A person suffered gunshot injuries in this incident has been admitted to Hambanthota hospital. Police are to go to recover the bodies tomorrow with the security forces.

The spokesman refused to comment on the killings until investigations are carried out.

Chena workers of the area reported gun firing was heard within the forest couple of days ago.

Security forces destroyed the cannabis farms inside the wildlife park sometimes ago.

Two months ago, LTTE attacked the Thalgasmankada Army detachment killing five personnel. Later four chena farmers were kled in Ranminithena. Several civilians were killed in a claymore explosion in Warahana area.

The Wildlife Park that was closed after those incidents was reopened for tourists a fortnight ago.
