Singapore Cricket Club visit in Melbourne

From the 12 th - 18 th December, a group of SCC representatives were in Melbourne, to take part in various sports. The cricket team played their matches, which were organised by the MCC in Melbourne. The other sports played included Golf, Lawn Bowls, Tennis and Women's Hockey.

As part of the tour, the Singaporean Cricket team was invited to watch the fourth ODI at the MCG (Australia vs. England D/N). Well-known Veteran Cricketer Nimal Dharmasiriwardena, Vice President of the Singapore Cricket Board and Member Singapore Cricket Club, who was on the tour participated in 3 of the 5 matches that were played – a mean feat at 66 years of age.

Later during the week, Dharmasiriwardena, met the President (Dr Quintus de Zylva) and Trustee (David Cruse) of the Sri Lanka Cricket Foundation at the Knox Tavern.

Here the Act Premier for Victoria and Water Minister the Hon. Mr John Twaithes attended an official function, hosted by Mr. David Cruse (Managing Director Knox Tavern) and Mr. Kushil Gunasekera (Founder) of the FOUNDATION OF GOODNESS, which has done wonders to people in Sri Lanka at Seni Gama by building houses for the Tsunami affected people.
