Muttiah
Muralitharan and members of the Sri Lanka management had
an egg thrown at them in Hobart earlier this week.
Sri
Lankan team manager Shriyan Samararatne said the incident
took place on Thursday evening while the group was walking
from a restaurant to the team hotel.
The
egg hit one of the selectors on the back.
The
Sri Lankan board have asked Cricket Australia to tighten
security around the team after the incident.
"A
group of four was walking from a restaurant to the team
hotel and an egg was thrown at them from a car but I am
not sure if they recognised Murali," Samararatne told
Media
"I
don't know the exact motive. I doubt whether they recognised
Murali but unfortunately he was there.
"We
told Cricket Australia about it and they were very upset."
Sri
Lanka are currently in Australia for the CB Series. They
kick off their campaign against India in Brisbane on Tuesday.
