The
annual Christmas Carols organized by Australia Sri Lanka
Catholic Association for the 4th consecutive year was
held on the 13th of December 2008 at Hampton Park - Melbourne.
Three choirs, namely, Aus- Lanka Catholic Choir, Eastern
Choir and St. Alban's Choir rocked the crowd with Sinhala
and English carol favourites. The program was enriched
with a Christmas drama, a children's play, religous homilies
and other entertaining items.
It was a fascinating evening with full of music and joy.
This year the theme of the event was 'Towards a united
family with the Holy Family'. Rev. Fr. Luke Nelson, the
administrator of St. Anne's Shrine Thalawila and Rev.
Ruwan Palpathwala were among the dignitaries. A large
enthusiastic crowd was gathered despites the heavy rain.
Santas arrival thrilled the children while adults were
busy with waving the luminus lighting sticks to the rythm
of 'Silent Night'. Aus - SL Catholic Association is grateful
to all those who generously support to make the event
a succes.
