Rising cricket star Ajantha Mendis breaks a 62 year old record

Sri Lankan spinner Ajantha Mendis who just entered international cricket broke 62 year world record by capturing a unbelievable 25 wickets of the Indians last Sunday (August 10) in his opening test matches between Sri Lanka and India.

He broke English cricketer Allan Bensor's 1946 record of 24 wickets in the opening test series. Mendis overtook him by taking 25 wickets in three tests between India and Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, star batsman Kumar Sangakkara set up another world record by being the third player who scored 2000 runs without being bowled. He was finally bowled out in April 2006.
