One Civil Defence Force (CDF) personnel was killed when the LTTE terrorists triggered off a claymore mine targeting the CDF personnel on duty at a checkpoint at Chavalakade in the Ampara area this morning, 11 August.

According to the available sources, the incident took place along the Mandur road in close vicinity to the Bravo junction around 10.15 a.m.
