Thirteen-year-old
D.W.P. Madara Maduwanthi of 56/4B, Sirimalpura
Gunnepana, a Grade Eight student of Mahamaya Balika Vidyalaya,
Kandy is diagnosed with a deformity in her spine called, scoliosis.
According
to consultant orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Vasantha Perera of the
National Hospital, she needs to undergo surgery to correct
this condition. A daughter of a War Hero who sacrificed his
life for the Motherland, she and her mother is unable to shoulder
the high costs involving the purchase of necessary implants
(Rs. 1 million).
They
appeal to donors for help donations can be credited to Bank
of Ceylon Savings Account No. 8242346/ People’s Bank
