4th August saw The STC OBA (AUST) Branch celebrating their annual
dinner dance “A Celebration OF Winter” at The Grand
Hyatt Hotel Melbourne.
It
was one great celebration on a cold winter night and true to the
words of the Thomian President’s eloquent speech old Thomians
their Spouses, Friends and guests were welcomed in the true sense
of Thomian hospitality.
The
ladies were gifted with a dainty chain brought all the way from
Sri Lanka whilst the men were given a traditional pack of tea.The
evenings programme commenced on Schedule to the sounds of The
Charlie Griffin Band.
It
was a night very well organised with great publicity given to
the sponsors and advertisers alike on two giant screens in the
ballroom,and Media coverage by courtesy of Johann Jayasinha of
Sports n News (SNNI) on hand to catch the best of the evenings
events as it unfolded. The three course meal selected was one
of the best the Chefs at the hotel had produced not only in terms
of quality, but quantity and presentation for Nouvelle cuisine.
The
flow of spirits with an unlimited open bar and beverages was very
complimentary, for the association to have provided their guests.
There were great prizes on offer amounting to over 12 combined
with an entrance ticket draw, Raffle draw and a unique idea in
having a sponsors lounge draw which was a first at any dance.
The innovative and unique ideas gave the night a different dimension
to the traditional dances held week in and out. |
