A Sri Lankan born UK citizen named Paul Savarimuththu, a Chartered Engineer, was admitted to hospital today with serious injuries following an assault by the son of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Hussein Bahila.

The unruly son of the Deputy Minister assaulted the engineer alleging him for not giving room to overtake his vehicle at Bambalapitiya. Mr. Savarimuththu who was on vacation in Sri Lanka was admitted to eye hospital with eye trauma.
The rowdy, Asil Bahila is also the Private Secretary of Deputy Minister Bahila.
