Last
Tuesday (14) troops discovered a well secured hospital that had
been used by the LTTE in area south of Narakamulla in Thoppigala.
The hospital located deep inside thick vegetation has been built
under a canopy of shady trees. Around the hospital is a protective
concrete bunker.
The
hospital is equipped with facilities to perform surgery. Equipment
at the hospital suggests that seriously injured LTTE cadres had
undergone surgery here.
A
large number of hospital beds specially designed for patients,
surgical equipment and stocks of medicines had also being recovered
from the hospital. Evidence indicates that the facility had been
abandoned by the LTTE in the face of advancing troops. |
