US Condemns Attack on Minister:
How Tragic “My Daughter the Terrorist” Movie Glorified Suicide Bombing

The United States has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on April 6 in Weliweriya, Gampaha. Ironically, it allowed the showing of the Norwegian movie “My Daughter the Terrorist” at the Durham International Film festival the very day that Minister Jeyaraj Fernandopulle was attacked by a LTTE suicide bomber.

Norwegian Producer Beate Arnestad’s movie openly glorified the greatness of suicide bombing. Time was uncanny and sickening, said an American observer. Billed as an apogee of enchanting weapon by the LTTE, the organizers are now eating their own words which ignored the protests of thousands.

It gave recognition to a display of pathetic poor public taste by the vicious LTTE. They have once again laid bare its true face as a savage terrorist outfit through a dastardly attack on a sports event, killing Minister Jeyaraj Fernandopulle, the National Athletics Coach Lakshman de Alwis, Olympic runner K. A. Karunarante

"The LTTE website Tamilnet has unashamedly admitted how she was forcibly kidnapped as an infant for the ignominious role of being a suicide bomber.

Is the US shedding crocodile tears now? Has the US metamorphosed overnight into a repentant sinner after being a supporter of a sinister plot by the LTTE to parade suicide bombing as a virtue showing the brave mind of a girl dying for a worthy cause?

We know that the Norwegian producer Beate Arnestad had arrived in Sri Lanka during the Cease Fire Agreement period and entered Wanni without the permission of the Foreign Ministry or any responsible state body for the filming of the movie compared to a Lambrandt painting

It is reported here that the LTTE is trying to show that movie in several cities. The US Ambassador must impress upon his government to stop this mockery of condemning suicide bombing and allowing it to be glorified.
