Ground sources in Mannar battlefront reveal that the terrorists have suffered heavy casualties today (April 22) in the continued military effort to liberate Wanni from terror clutches.

In the Malikkattidal area, troops engaged artillery and mortars at a group of terrorist around 12.25 pm. According to the ground sources terrorists have suffered heavy casualties in the incident. However, the exact damage to the terrorists is yet to be ascertained, the sources further add.

Meanwhile, snipers deployed in the Minukkan area claimed to have killed 2 LTTE cadres around 9 am. Also, a soldier suffered serious injuries in a separate confrontation occurred in the same area.
