Weerawansa and his nine loyalists say their group will
not join with the government but work closely with the
National Patriotic Movement [NPM] to defeat the separatism
from Sri Lanka.
Speaking
to media on Sunday in Kandy, the JVP dissidents said that
they want to correct their party’s path.
"We
got furious feed back from the JVP leadership when we
asked to correct their path, he said.
Mr.Weerawansa
and his loyalists made a courtesy visit to Mahanayaka’s
of Malwatta and Asgiriya and pay their homage to the Temple
of the Tooth relic in this morning.
Meanwhile,
Mahanayaka of the Malwatta Chapter most reverend Tibbotuwawe
Sri Sumangala Nayaka thero urged the JVP dissident’s
to support the government to liberate Sri Lanka from terrorism.
"If
you join the government and take cabinet portfolios it
is not an unfair thing for your voters. I think it is
the suitable way to help the government,” said the
Thero.
During
the courtesy calls Mr.Weerawansa said he always wishes
to obtain advice from the Mahanayakas.
Mr.Weerawansa
and other nine parliamentarians were welcome by Nilanga
Dela Bandara, the Diyawadana Nilame.
