Army Spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara
addressing the media in Colombo this morning (31), said
that the ministry would not hesitate to rehabilitate and
find a means of livelihood to those LTTE cadres who surrendered
themselves to the forces and chose to give up terrorism.
"It has become difficult to cope up with the demand
as already 48 are undergoing vocational training; 11 have
completed training and are to be found foreign employment,"
he said.
Minister
Rambukwella mentioned that he was negotiating with foreign
countries to make this programme a success.
According
to the Minister there had been a confrontation between
the forces and LTTE cadres between 9.30 and 11 am today
about 10km from Mullativu town which caused damage to
the run-away and also cleared the area off Vauvnia-Periyapandiverichan.
The
forces also gained victories in Mannar.
At the same time many have left unprotected areas particularly
around Delft and moved over to protected areas. Already
about 230 have come over, Brigadier Nanayakkara said.
