Sri Lanka Air Force fighter jets pounded on two identified LTTE gun positions this morning, Thursday the 19th of April.

Air Forces sources said that the first air strike was launched at 10:30 a.m. targeting an LTTE mortar position at Palai in south of Muhamalai.

The second air strike was launched at 10:45 a.m. targeting an LTTE gun position where the anti-air weapons had been located, at Theravilkulam in North-West of Puthukkudiyiruppu, Air Force sources further said.

The sources revealed that the targets have been accurately identified through timely ground information received from the reliable sources and the Air Force officials confirmed that both the targets have been completely destroyed due to the bombardment.
