AusLMAT on it's twelfth visit to Sri Lanka since the Boxing Day Tsunami of 2004 visited the Dickoya Government Hospital on Sunday 25th March. Drs. Dr. K.N.Sannasooriya Visiting Physician Dickoya Hospital subsequently asked AusLMAT to extend it's activities to include Dickoya on it's next trip. AusLMAT is considering this request. The Dickoya Government Hospital is a small hospital with five resident nursing staff and three resident doctors. The majority of the patients are from surrounding estate areas. The trip to Dickoya from Hambantota took six hours via the Ella Gap. Dickoya to Colombo took us just three hours via Ginigathena and Yatiyantota.
