A lorry transferring 7,900 Ltrs of diesel and petrol illegally to the un-liberated patches in Mannar district was apprehended by the Toaddaveli Police, while crossing a security check point today(13) at 03.30p.m.

According to the Toaddaveli Police officials the lorry registered in Jaffna was seized after failing to prove valid route permits. The lorry driver and the assistant both residents in Jaffna were arrested immediately on suspicion of transporting fuel to the LTTE, who produced distracting information when interrogated, the Police sources said.

Thirty eight barrels consisting of 210 Ltrs each, of diesel and petrol were being transported to a destination in the un-liberated areas when it was apprehended by the Toddaveli Police. Meanwhile, a Mannar Police official said that further investigation were under progress.

Toaddaveli is located 08 kilometers north west of  Mannar, along the Talaimannar  main road.
