Hinniyale Aththo
A photograph portraying the rarely captured image of Late Hinniyale Aththo, the wife of the former Indigenous leader of Dambana, Late Uruwarige Thisahami and the mother of the present Indigenous leader Uruwarige Wanniyale Aththo. Only under exceptional circumstances do cameras ever reach the female members of this Indigenous community, let alone members of prominent status. This photograph was taken on Sunday the 26th of December 2004 (Tsunami day) around 11.00 in the morning.
