Sri Lanka Army Ceremonially Silences their Guns



Prabhakaran's body found
Army Chief


Commander of Sri Lanka Army General Sarath Fonseka has confirmed that the body of V.Prabhakaran, psychopathic leader of world's most barbaric terrorist outfit Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) has been found short while ago (May 19).

According to the defence sources, the LTTE leader who has ordered thousands of Tamil youth to give up their lives for him has tried to save his life until the last moment. The terror chief's body was found by the 53 Division troops led by Major General Kamal Goonarathne, the sources further said.


Tri-service commanders promoted

COMMANDER of the Army Lieutenant General Sarath Fonseka, RWP RSP VSV USP rcds psc Navy Commander Vice Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda RSP VSV USP ndc psc and Air Force Commander Air Marshal Roshan Goonathilake RWP VSV USP ndc psc have been promoted to their next ranks by His Excellency, the President Mahinda Rajapaksa in recognition of their services to the country in connection with the elimination of LTTE terrorism from Sri Lanka's soil. 

Accordingly, Lieutenant General Sarath Fonseka, Commander of the Army has been promoted to the rank of General with effect from Monday (18). Vice Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda and Air Marshal Roshan Goonathilake have been promoted to the ranks of Admiral and Air Chief Marshal respectively, Presidential Media section announced.

LTTE wiped out from Lankan soil

Bringing the 30 year cruel war to an end, the troops militarily defeated the LTTE with all its leaders being killed . The news of the defeat of the LTTE, with its' three top leaders being shot dead, while fleeing in a vehicle, brought a sigh of relief to the entire nation.
Early today(18th), the masses were jubilant when the first news broke that the body of Charles Anthony, son of LTTE leader Velupillai Prabakaran was discovered. An enthusiastic population celebrated lighting crackers at regular intervals.
